Exercises are given several times particularly at the end of several topics to strengthen students’ comprehension of the materials. This is to enforce students’ responsibility and to enhance their preliminary understanding of the materials.
Students are required to write a summary on different topics prior to coming to the class. Learning Activities: Learning activities are the combination of lectures, discussions, writing summary, doing exercises and analyzing texts. What will be discussed in the class includes some basic concepts of forms and functions, phrases and clauses, types of sentences and the extensive use of determiners and prepositions. be familiar with the uses of determiners and prepositions Contents: The topics covered in this course are mainly intended to enhance students’ grammatical understanding on sentence level. construct different kinds of sentences with a variety of possible clauses 4. understand the difference between phrase and clause 3.
